How we score infrastructure status

The six-stage framework behind every entry in our Infrastructure Tracker.

Nachiketa Research DeskReviewed by Investment CommitteePublished 05 Jan 2026 · Updated 17 Jul 2026

Every project in our Infrastructure Tracker carries one of six statuses: Announced, Proposed, Approved, Tendered, Under Construction, or Operational. We assign these directly from official sources — government notifications, tender portals, and progress reports — never from news coverage alone.

The distinction between 'Approved' and 'Tendered' matters more than it might seem. Approval confirms intent and budget; a tender confirms that execution has genuinely begun. We have seen 'approved' projects sit for years without a tender being floated.

We re-verify every project's status on a rolling basis and record a last-verified date on each entry. When a status changes, we update it — and where relevant, we note it in our regional research too.
